Pilates Matwork Level 1 & Pilates Small Equipment : Magic Circle, Mini Ball , Staff, Towel and Bands.
December 4 - December 8
Pilates Matwork Level 1 Workshop : Exercises and variations from the level 1 repertoire.
This method was created and developed in the early 20th century by Joseph H.Pilates. In his book Return to Life through Contrology, Joseph Pilates presents his method as the art of controlled movements, which should look and feel like a workout (not a therapy) when properly manifested.
If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.
In this Teacher Training workshop we will address the matwork exercises and variations from the level 1 repertoire. We also look over the fundamentals and principles of Contrology and cover some strategies and techniques for communication in group classes and personal training.
Pilates Small Equipment : Magic Circle, Mini Ball , Staff, Towel and Bands.
In this Teacher Training workshop we will address the use of the small equipment or props like the magic circle, mini-ball, towel, staff, bands and small weights to perform the mat exercises or adaptations, that might be helpful to build your one-o-one classes or even to innovate your pilates group classes. We will also cover its applicability in special populations, like pregnancy and geriatric.
