Yoga Philosophy – 50 Hours
September 17, 2021 - September 25, 2021

We have all heard about texts like the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita; some of us have even read it, and all teachers tell us about the importance of these works. But can we truly understand these books, or their relevance to our lives today? In this course we will read and discuss these texts and explore their relationship with meditation and the chakras.
What you will learn
This course will dive into one of the most beloved and revered texts in yoga: the Bhagavad Gita and the bigger work around it, the Mahabharata.
There is much inspiration and wisdom in those ancient texts, wisdom that is surprisingly relevant for our modern and complex lives. We follow the interpretation of Paramahansa Yogananda and his gurus, who saw in these texts an allegory for the battles we wage inside of us everyday.
Fundamental to these teachings are the theories of the chakras and their role in our spiritual development and growth. And because those ideas are meant to be experienced and not only intellectually understood, we will practice asanas and meditations daily as well.
